This church was built by British troops (some were stonemasons) who were billeted at Noupoort during the Boer War. It was designed by a railway engineer and built in memory of fallen comrades. The walls that look as if they have fallen apart over the years are original. The church was never completed as the troops were moved out. The building was finished later using normal face bricks.
